Droit du coeur de la Louisiane - Straight from the heart of Louisiana
"...lyrical, full of life, intriguing and straight from the heart. Whether you just want to listen, or get up and dance the night
away, you'll be captivated by the music, stories,  personality and passion of Cajun Combo."   Bart "Bartman" Ruark,
Executive Producer, Dance Vortex Festival, Mentone, AL.
Whether bouncy two-step or heartfelt
waltz, Cajun Combo returns you to the
roots of Cajun Music. In a musical world
where “busy and loud” tries to compete
for our attention, it often misses the
essential nature of a tune. Our combo
brings you directly to the heart and soul
of Cajun music,  played string-style,
featuring twin mandolins or twin fiddles
and authentic French vocals, that are
the backbone of Cajun music.  The
interpretations on the stringed
instrument family of fiddles, guitars and
mandolins in various combinations, lets
you taste the flavor and fully hear the
beauty of these timeless songs that
come from a people of living history in
Southwest Louisiana.
Al Berard, (fiddle, mandolin, guitar, vocals) Grammy nominee,  CFMA (Cajun French Music Assoc.) multi-award
recipient, and Cajun native son, has been playing traditional French Cajun music all his life and enjoys sharing both the
music, and anecdotal stories of his home and his culture with his audiences, as he has done all over the world for 30
years. Mark Trichka (mandolins, guitar)  and Lisa Brande (fiddle, octave mandolin, guitar, vocals), both part-time
Louisiana residents, and full time touring musicians for over 20 years, add texture and depth to Al’s musical
expressions. ( For more info, see our
bio page.)

The trio is excited to bring a new component of Cajun music into the ears of all curious and discerning listeners.
